When the Commander-in-Chief, President Donald Trump took to the lawn of The White House to reveal his thoughts on the latest installment of the “#MeToo” Campaign and its impact on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Charlamagne Tha God was listening intently. The rapper has taken Kanye West to task over his support of Trump and shocked many by referencing part of the speech made by Trump regarding this period of time being a “scary time for young men in America…”
Despite many being shocked by the avowed member of the opposition to Trump posting this to his social media account, Charlamagne Tha God confirmed his position later when he brought up the role played by the President in the jailing of the Central Park Five. The five young African-American males were convicted of sexual misconduct without a large amount of evidence for their conviction with the then real estate mogul appearing on TV throughout the case calling for their jailing. Charlamagne Tha God did state some of what was said by President Trump did appeal to him but that was based largely on his own experiences as an African-American male. The host of “The Breakfast Club” went on to explain President Trump should now understand how the Central Park Five felt when they were convicted of a sexual attack on a female jogger in the iconic New York park.
Charlamagne Tha God has stood on the opposite side of the U.S. political scene to the fellow rapper, Kanye Who who he has stated does not speak for the African-American community in supporting President Trump. The Central Park Five were released from jail after serving 13 years for a crime they did not commit.
