Human Rights’ Organizations’ stance on migrant rights

The leading migrant rights organizations like Amnesty International USA and many other refugee groups have demanded the United States government to protect the rights and lives of immigrants during the Hurricane Harvey.

These organizations have issued a letter to the Department of Homeland Security during the last week of August this year.

This letter addressed the concerns and worries regarding the impact of Hurricane Harvey on the lives of the people who are seeking refuge and shelter to protect themselves and their families in this calamity. Read more: Michael Lacey | Facebook and Michael Lacey | Twitter

The letter also raised the concern that the agency is adding a lot of pain to already disturbed people by taking legal actions against them. The agency is violating the human rights, and that is not acceptable in any way.

The letter was also addressed to the Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement along with the Department of Homeland Security.

The letter also stated that many of the undocumented and unregistered Texans are forbade to take any safety measures to protect their lives and their loved ones because of the threats by enforcement bodies.

They are reluctant to take shelters in the safety homes provided by the government. More than fifty-two mothers along with their children were stuck in a bus station located in San Antonio.

They had no place to move, nor nay place to find refuge. Learn more about Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey:  http://www.laceyandlarkinfronterafund.org/about-lacey-larkin-frontera-fund/michael-lacey/

The Amnesty International USA and other refugee groups have been keeping a close eye on the current situation of USA after the Harvey Hurricane. They have also shown concerns regarding the violation of human rights. They have also noticed the response of the government and trying to ensure justice for the immigrants.

Amnesty International is one of the many international networks that have been working world wide to protect the human, civil and migrant rights.

There are several other similar groups that have been working on the issues of migrants and raising their voices through campaigning, fund raising, legal protection, life support, healthcare assistance and many others.

Among these organizations, National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, Immigrant Defense Project, Immigrant Legal Resource Center, International Rescue Committee, The International Refugee Assistance Project, National Immigration Law Center are the famous names.

Even non-profit groups founded by the individuals are also raising their voices against injustice with migrants. Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund is an example of one such organization established to protect the rights of migrants in Arizona.
